Gracious God, we pray for ourselves and all women as leaders.

Give us and them, open hearts and opportunities to serve.

Give us and them, listening hearts so that your words flow through us as we talk, teach, serve and lead.

Give us and them, the courage to step outside of our plans and programs if you have another path for us to take, as well as the discipline to stay on course amidst distraction and interruption.

Spirit of God, breathe where you will, move as you please,
Settle on women and men alike.
Move us to new heights of understanding,

To new types of witnessing,
To the new dimensions of life that are needed
Right here, right now. Amen.

Consoling God, be a source of peace for me when personal
and family struggles and difficulties threaten to overwhelm me.
God of Goodness, hold me close to your heart
fill me with joy and delight in the role of mother.

God of Peace, be the centre of my life,
in the whirlwind of my life bless me and those I love with your strength and hope.

God of Mercy, we pray for the grace to put our full trust in you.

We all need to experience the gift of Mercy flowing from the heart of Christ broken open for us on the cross.

It is only by your grace that we can claim to have anything that can aid our salvation or sanctification.

As the only hope for the world is the mercy of Christ, Loving God we pray that we may be moved to forgive those who have offended us, to repent of harsh judgements against others, and to discover afresh the richness of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Lord Jesus Christ,

you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father,
and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him.
Show us your face and we will be saved.
Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money;
the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things;
made Peter weep after his betrayal,
and assured Paradise to the repentant thief.

Blessed are those who don’t have it all together
Blessed are those who have run out of strength, ideas, will power, resolve or energy
Blessed are those who ache because of how severely out of whack the world is
Blessed are those who on a regular basis have a dark day in which despair seems to be a step behind them wherever they go
Blessed are you, for God is with you
God is on your side, God meets you in that place.
